The beautiful gardens of Copinger Hall, in the shadow of St Mary’s Church, Buxhall, is the picturesque setting for the Buxhall & Shelland Church Fête.
Buxhall has a long tradition of staging fund raising events. Archive photographs show a group of village residents in the 1920’s at an event to raise money for repairs to the church roof.
The first Church Fête was held in Buxhall in 1949 and since then has evolved into a well-supported local community event raising money for both Buxhall and Shelland Churches by offering displays and activities, together with a wide range of stalls to appeal to all the family.
